So Kathleen and I went to Domino's Petting Farm on Saturday to look at cute animals. I took my camera along, because hey, cute animals = cute pictures, right? Well . . . yes. But I realized something when I came home and we looked over the results. Cute pictures of animals are pretty much the same from a point and shoot camera or a DSLR like mine. The pictures were definitely adorable, but were they really interesting and worth sharing? Not really.
These two shots were total mistakes. I had the shutter speed set way too slow because I wasn't paying any attention, and therefore the whites are totally blown out. This mistake, however, is what makes these photos interesting. They're not my best work, but they are worth looking at for a moment, I feel.
As always, you can see bigger versions on Flickr, so just click on the pic and then click on "all sizes" above the photo in Flickr.

Happy Mistakes

You're wrong, man - that chicken one is among the best I've seen of yours. And I'm not just saying that because of my family's affinity for chickens. I don't really have the lingo to express how I feel about it, but I think it's spectacular, accident or not.
